Culture Is a Choice:
Building It by Design, Not Default
Workplace culture doesn’t happen by accident – it happens by design. In this keynote, Corey Campbell, CEO & Founder of Akamai Training & Consulting, will guide participants through a dynamic and heartfelt exploration of what it means to intentionally create culture in times of change. Drawing on principles of transformational leadership, extreme ownership, and Hawai‘i’s values of connection and aloha, Corey will challenge HR professionals and leaders to see themselves as architects of culture, not just participants in it. Through stories, discussion, and learning practical tools, participants will walk away with clarity, energy, and actionable steps to design a culture where people feel inspired, connected, and empowered to thrive.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
Recognize the difference between intentional culture-building and default workplace habits that erode engagement.
Apply principles of transformational leadership and extreme ownership to shape positive culture during change.
Identify strategies to foster trust, accountability, and collaboration within diverse and remote teams.
Reflect on one’s personal leadership mindset and the ripple effect it has on energy, culture, and results at the workplace.
Commit to one culture-shaping action to apply immediately at the workplace.
