Kazu Hayashida

Talent Acquisition for Workforce Planning, and HR Service Center Manager at Hawaiian Electric

Kazu Hayashida brings more than 30 years of hospitality, human resources and community outreach experience through his various roles.  Kazu started his career in the hospitality industry at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Waikiki. In those 15 years, he held numerous operations and sales roles before moving to the Human Resources department.  He continued his HR career at Hilton Worldwide as the Recruitment Operations Center Manager for the West Region overseeing the recruitment, outreach and community partner.  From there he became the Workforce Planning Manager for The Queen’s Health Systems assisting in the creation of healthcare programs for multiple entities within the Queen’s system. Kazu’s current position is a Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, and HR Service Center Manager at Hawaiian Electric.  

With the increase in talent leaving Hawaii for the mainland it is more important than ever for organizations to invest in our local talent from an earlier age and for the business community to work together to nurture that talent so that they will have career opportunities that will allow them to stay in Hawaii and have successful futures.
