Evan Leong

Evan Leong is the CEO of Brain Gain Hawaii, specializing in executive recruitment, consulting, and coaching. As a connector, Evan helps people connect with themselves and others. He is a certified practitioner in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Brainspotting, coaching business owners and senior leaders to navigate their internal challenges. Evan has significantly added value to Hawaii’s business and media landscape through his work as a published author, Telly Award-winning television producer, and host.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Evan’s entrepreneurial ventures include the international distribution of bubble tea through Bubble Tea Supply, which he launched in 2001 with his wife Kari, and the multimedia project Greater Good Radio, which he launched in 2005 as Hawaii’s first business podcast and broadcasted on ESPN1420 AM Radio. This project evolved into a Telly Award-winning CBS/KGMB9 TV show and a bestselling book, “The Greater Good – Life Lessons from Hawai’i’s Leaders.” His work earned the couple recognition as the US SBA Small Business Journalist of the Year for Region 9 and a “Forty under 40” honoree by Pacific Business News.

Evan is an alumnus of Punahou School and graduated Cum Laude from Hawaii Pacific University, where he received the Paul CT Loo Distinguished Alumni Award. He earned his Executive MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2005. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Evan initiated Save Hawaii Jobs and Businesses, a webinar series that also included individual pro bono legal and accounting guidance around PPP and EIDL loans, resulting in over $1 million in pro bono support and helping to save thousands of Hawaii businesses and being nationally recognized.

Evan serves on the board of directors for Kahi Mohala, the only residential mental health facility for children and adolescents in the Pacific, and the UH Shidler College of Business Alumni Association, where he runs the undergraduate mentor program. He has recruited for some of Hawaii's most prominent and smallest companies and coached leaders of the state’s most influential organizations. Through these roles, his continuous efforts in executive coaching, and his entrepreneurial ventures, Evan helps companies recruit, develop, and retain key talent, fostering leadership and business growth in Hawaii. Additionally, he is a Pacific Century Fellow, reflecting his commitment to leadership and service in the community. Evan and his wife Kari have been married for 26 years and are the proud parents of four children.
